Moving in the winter isn’t always fun especially if you live somewhere with snow or freezing rain. If this is the case, keep these tips in mind:
- This is probably obvious but…if possible plan around predicted bad weather.
- If there’s supposed to be bad weather on the day you’re moving, ask your moving company what their change of date policy is. And ask them about their bad weather policy as well. Try to stay flexible and have a backup plan for delays or reschedules on their end.
- If it’s wet outside, ask the movers to lay down blankets to protect your floor from getting dirty.
- If there’s snow or ice outside, salt the ground so nor you or the movers will slip.
- If it’s wet outside, make sure the movers wrap all of your furniture. If you’re moving with us, we always do this!
- Ensure that the heat is working at your new place before move in day!
Hopefully these small tips will help you if you find yourself moving during the winter. Most importantly, enjoy the cozy time in your new home! Spring will be here before you know it.
